Metzeler M-3

Talked to Metzeler yesterday and was told that the homologation for the KS is at least two months or longer away. Does anybody know just what this process entails and what are effects of using a non-homologated M-3? Ill handling, bike falls over? The M-1 "B" code used rayon to stiffen the sidewalls so I would imagine the M-3 would do the same. Anyone use non-coded M-3's as yet?

Smile M-3

I had an unplanned "reshoeing" after wearing out a set of tires while doing the Utah Canyons. A "Not a BMW dealership" put M-3's on because they had them in stock. I did not know they were not KS approved. So far, I have about 2,000 miles on them and am very pleased. They hold a line and grip the road as well as any tire I've had on the bike (Avon's had been my tire of choice) and they are stable at speed. If nothing changes, I will replace them with another set just like them.

1200 miles on the M3's as of today, all twisties, pushed hard, A great tire. For me its that or the Pilot Power..

Well M3's done at 1900 miles , arrrrr, I'm going to try the Z6's and we shall see.......

I was going to try the Michelin Power's too, but a friend convinced me to try the Conti Road Attacks..., so I'm gonna try those next. I'm running Z6's now - my last rear Z6 had belts hanging out at 3200 miles.

The friend that has the Conti's is an aggressive rider and he's getting over 6k on them and he say's they turn in real quick.
