Question Mirrors - Is there an alternative?

OK - I have performed a search on the subject of "Mirrors" and from the various responses, it would appear that everyone BUT me is totally fine with the fuzzy images in the r/v/m...

Is there an alternative mirror set on the market? Perhaps some kind of support brace?

Pirate?

Ken?

Bueller? Bueller? Bueller? Has anybody seen Ferris Bueller? Certainly could not have out of the mirrors at speed...

Howdy Jeff,

I do wish the image in the mirror was clearer....."hey Nancy, is that Jeff behind us on Salmon Falls Road?"

My guess is that with the 6,500+rpm "buzz", it's going to be tough to get the image very clear. I've been thinking a camera system with an LCD display might not be a bad solution.

Mirrors

The picture in my mirrors is quit good especially when compared to the old Jap bikes. I just wish I could see more of it past my shoulders. The mirrors on the K1200RS are great.

There may be a few things one might complain about in regards to the K1200S but I didn't think anyone would complain about the mirrors.
IMO, these are some of the best mirrors you find on any bike in it's class. Mine don't buzz at all and provide tons or rear-view. BMW got these right.
Now go pick on the fuel mapping like your supposed to

Geezz.. I'm with Mark on this one, mate. These are some of the best factory mirrors I've seen on any bike... ever.

The mirrors on my K are great.
But why do you even need mirrors when nobody can keep up?

I'll second that. These are some great mirrors however I have a rattle now from the mirror vibrating in the shell of the mirror. Any idea how to fix it? :o

I am really impressed with the mirrors on my K12S, but I guess that anything is incredible compared to my Guzzi. On the V11, I can tell there is a car behind me, can't tell the color, or if it has a lightbar on the roof
Yup, found that out the hard way once.

Overall, I wouldn't want to change anything about the mirrors on the K12S.

Just my view

I knew I was in the minority here (thanks for the support, Bill - I think)...

I guess I am starting to really miss my '03 GT, becuase I could always see clearly out those mirrors at any speed/rpm. The roads must be rough around here in Sac-Town 'cause the shaking of the mirrors from the road stops about 1 second after you hit the bump, which is about a second too late... Anyway these damn mirrors have got Parkinson's Disease or something because the only time they stop shaking is when I come to a stop... They are buzzy and they bounce.

You all must be riding on smoother roads at low rpm than I am... California roads are the worst in the country, I am sure. I grew up in So Cal, which has bad roads too, but you are constantly splitting the lane, so you don't have to look in the r/v/m too many times...

Yeah, the mirrors are on as tight as I can get them without stripping out the threads. I guess I will have to actually use my engineering degree and figure something else out. Who knows - maybe my invention(s) will make a bunch of money...

CHEERS!

Sorry to hear that your mirrors aren't working out for you. Mine are just fine, I can actually see what's behind me - and what it is! Good luck with coming up with a solution.
