Things I love about my bike

Not that anyone really cares, but I thought I'd share some of the things I enjoy about my R-Sport. Call it a rare moment of boundless goodwill. Feel free to add to the list.

-The engine: Well, duh. It's like riding on top of a jet engine.
-It's the first bike I've owned that actually makes freeway riding kind of fun.
-The way it snarls through the Laser can is nothing short of nasty.
-Suspension: Stock suspension that actually works! Nice concept. This thing is unflappable. And with the non-ESA suspension I'm able to dial in just the right amount of preload to get the ride height and handling right.
-The turbine-looking sport wheels are super cool.
-A headlight that actually illuminates the road.
-Everybody's my friend: I get props from the BMW riders and the sport-bike types.
-Versatility: It will do a 300-mile ride in comfort, run errands, or hit the twisties. I can throw soft luggage on the rear rack for touring, commuting, etc., and pop it off in 10 seconds for sport riding.
-It will probably outlast me.
-The size: I'm 6'2"; I like having a bike big enough to stretch out on. Those who are 5-1/2 feet tall can enjoy their sportbike toys; I'll take a bike that's built to fit real people.
-Build quality. This thing is put together right.
-Oh yeah--the engine. It just keeps getting better.

Things I love...

Hi Jim,

While I don't yet own a K1200R Sport, I can agree with you on the engine.

Have I driven one to feel its power? No. Have I listened to it and heard its roar? Yes. But, what's REALLY cool about the Sport is that you can actually SEE that wonderful 4-cylinder work of mechanical art. So, in addition to feeling like you're atop a jet, it looks GREAT!

Me too regarding the engine - I have a K1200S with now 10.000 km on the ODO and it is just getting better and better. The "flatspot" between 3 and 4k RPM are however irritating but I learned to live with it - just keeps the revs up and its smooth as silk.

I like the way the thing feels between my legs! And, how more of it's abilities are revealed to me every mile.
