Yes, yes. New sporty boxer. Whatever.

I'm sure it'll have way more power and way better handling and look sweeter than anything else BMW makes. And I'm sure that when it makes it to the showrooms, it will cost 25% more than any other bike BMW makes. In the months prior to the launch, I'm probably going to research it to death, finding out everything I can about it on the internet and riding it around my favorite track in my head. I will bother my dealer about it and bring home a brochure. I will get in trouble with the wife for talking about it so much. The guys at work will get bored with it.

And when the day comes, I'm sure I will march right down there, like a hypnotized, brainwashed idiot, and pay way too much for it. And thank them. Because man, I HAVE to have that bike!!

Unless of course the new KTM RC8 Superbike can do better lap times around the track in my head.

hehe

Interesting...dual-overhead cams on this one. Guess they're going back to the telelever front end, though. I think the first HP-2 had Ohlins front forks, but could be wrong.

Hard to tell what they have in mind, since the R1200S is not being stocked by NJ Corporate. Guess you have to order one from factory to get one. Probably the same for this model. The Ohlins R1200S that has been out a year or so is a great bike. Wife Mary won't get off hers for anything less than test rides of some of the new models, which she says is just for fun.

R1200s HP2

Has anyone gotten any reliable estimates of the USA price on this bike? I've seen prices listed from $25K to $35K. Also, has anyone heard any information from a dealer as to when the bike will be released? Is it suppose to be before the end of the year?

Is it just me or is it time for BMW to just ditch the Boxer design for a full on sports bike.

I mean is it retarded or what having the cylinder head being the first thing that decks out.

The boxer motor works very well for most applications. However, BMW will have a 4 cylinder entry in World Super Bike for 2009....
