2008 K1200Rs at Cycle World Show in Houston
I rode down from Austin to the Cycle World show in Houston Saturday. Made the trip on my Kawasaki ZRX1200r as, much to my chagrin, I discovered a screw in the rear tire of my K1200R late Friday night (didn't consider plugging the tire for the ride a prudent move).
Saw the 2 2008 colors for the K1200R in person. Although it's not my cup of tea, the green looks really nice on the bike. I was a little disappointed in the black bike. It's a good looking KR, but I figured it would be black bodywork on a black frame (all black which would be pretty cool). Instead its black bodywork with a silver frame, silver engine and silver wheels. Classy look but not as menacing as an all black bike would have been.
Also saw the Suzuki B-King up close and personal. It may be the ugliest bike to come out of Japan this century. Pictures don't do justice how plain/ugly it really is.
I missed the roomy comfort of the KR on the ride, but it was nice to ride a bike again with sewing machine smooth throttle response and a real rear brake.
