Are you sure about that? I've ridden an RT and I own an '03 GT and I don't share that opinion. I have not been able to ride them back-to-back, but my memory tells me that the RT is left for dead by the GT.

I would also expect the KGT to walk away from the RRT, especially over 100 mph. Granted the R bike is lighter, but has 35 less hp and that barn door up front. I've ridden R11RT's, not an R1150RT, and believe the K would do it. Are you sure that GT was running ok and not burdened with a lot of junk on it? Maybe two up?

Keep in mind the RT is more at the upper end of the RPM range. I think it tops out at ~130 MPH, whereas the GT has another 25 MPH to go.

I wonder if it wasn't the R1200RT instead of the R1150RT?

Razel,
I've ridden both the R1150RT and the R1200RT and agree that both have a good grunt at the top end, but even the extra power of the 1200 isn't enough to keep up with the GT in my opinion.

The RT is lighter and also geared differently. Now lets do 4th gear roll ons...from 80mph-125mph....it's a whole different story..the GT walks all over the RT.

My R1200ST is the equal of the previous generation of K1200GT at those speeds, but I seriously doubt the R1150RT is. You sure you are not talking the R1200?

Just exactly how did you determine this?
