would you trade your K-RS for an R-GS?

I'm considering trading my K1200RS for an R1200GS. The bike needs to travel well two up as well as solo, be a great daily commuter as well as be able to rip through the twisty back roads when I want a day of adrenaline pumping fun. I already know of its off road prowess, but is it a good road bike as well?

Personal bias, as I've ridden a little bit on the GS, but the RS is a true road bike. If you're not heading off-road at any time, I don't think the GS is any improvement. More upright, bit more buzzy, but it will haul anything around you need. Will take a bit more time to get up to speed as well.

But, go to a BMW dealer and see if they'll let you have a test ride, and what time factor they have. If you bring it back early, it's not the right bike...

I like this measure, if you bring it back early its the wrong bike.

On the other hand, I demo'ed a F800ST. Started getting a bit nervous about having it out too long.

Nothing said when I got back, but shortly there was another customer that walked in for their ride "appointment" that I had no clue about...

Now, if you're thinking about a "GS", I'd seriously consider test riding a F800ST at the same time you try the R1200GS, and see if a F800GS makes more sense...
