New project..."strip to street"
Finally looks like my friend Steve and I are going to be able to resurrect our old Pro-Stocker and turn it into a 'quasi legal'
street bike. This is gonna be a blast and will definitely generate interest/trouble with the local constabulary. It's been burried in the garrage with a host of other old timers and was only dug out today. I'm gonna post pictures of whatever progress we make. The thing is incredibly fast with gobs of torque. Hasn't been ridden in years and, quite frankly, we're noobs all over again. Bike ran 7.7's back in 91' (with the 50 lb lead it had to carry to make it legal) which may not be that fast by t'days standards, but should be entertaining on the street. Steve actually started on it back in 01' when he switched out the Lectrons for some 41 mm Kehins (Lectrons were just impossible to set up for the street....they couldn't be set to do anything but run wide open) He then took it out (dead of night) on RT.78 in Chatham NJ. and drove it to Newark NJ. (about 20-25 miles) to a friends shop. Nothing but two PIA driving lights that wouldn't work at full throttle. People musta thought it was a fighter jet passing 'em....heh. Anyway, thought you guys might be interested.
