no flat tires

After overtaking a cage I felt the rear tire going down,I was unprepared for a flat over 100 miles from home, luckily I stoped at some nice folks drive-way, they got home within 5 minutes and took me into the next town for a plug kit, we retunred pluged the tire (they had a compressor)and off I went, now I worry about haveing a plug in my tire. Has anyone used a product called no flat tires ? It sounds like good insurance from or for that next nail or whatever comes along. 2000 k1200rs joesflashdog red the fast color

it would be a good idea to get one of those emergency flat repair kits in addition to the no flat goop.

Haven't had it happen away from home yet (picked up 3 drywall screws though). But I think the problem will always be the tire inflation, assuming the damage can be plugged.

Some carry a stripped down electric inflator, others stick with the CO2 gas and plugs. I keep the aerosol goo which is pressurised, the CO2 inflator and some assorted screws 'cos the last one was in my tire a week before I spotted it! In an emergency as little as 10psi will keep you rolling to a garage or off a freeway. I always carry a cell with 12 volt charger cable.

My feeling is if you keep your minimum tire tread just above the wear bars, then your odds against a flat improve.

I'm a big fan of a product called Ride-On. I've posted on this site (somewhere) long ago. Not expensive and so far, no flats on any of my bikes(s). But then again, my blizzard insurance in Florida hasn't failed me yet, as well.

For what ever reason I get flat tires, most of the time its no where near home and with a new tire. I carry CO2 and plugs with me all the time, without them I would have been stuck in the high desert in 100+ degree day in the middle of no where. I will finish the ride with a plug, but will replace when the ride/trip is over.

Just my thought.
