Having a Helmet Painted

Hey guys Im going to get my gf a helmet for her birthday present. I want to have it painted with a brazilian flag since the girl is brazilian.

Can you guys give me an idea on who would paint helmets? I saw that guy on BmwK.com with the starwars custom helmet that he had painted.

Thanks alot

I recommend putting a decal on the helmet.

advice- do not embroider any girls name on anything you own or allow her to personalize anything you pay for.

....it's kinda like tatooing a girlfriends name on you....the girlfriend ditches you but the tatoo is still there. Recycle the helmet for the next girl.

(this is not meant to be insensitive, just realistic and i would have appreciated this when i was eighteen)

Sidenote...

What happens when you turn 19? Do you have to change your forum name?

Haha Ill be 19 this march.

Thx for the advice. But shes my gf and I gotta get her something nice because shes been using my cheap pile of sh** BELL helmet for over a year and I think she deserve a nice flip up nolan or something.

Its not my property, Im getting her a new helmet but I bet shed be willing to tattoo my name on her a$$

Decal sound smart(cheaper) but it wont be like a paint job. No advice on the pait job? I still have a month to think it over... February 10th.

I had a full face HJC painted about 6 years ago. Actually found the person on the internet. (might be able to find the name if you're interested). We exhanged ideas on a concept via email. They did a REALLY NICE job.

Some things to consider:
- a really good job won't be cheap - will be several hundred dollars.
- can take some time to get it done. good helmet painters can be pretty busy, especially this time of year as they are doing a lot of work for racers in front of the season.
- good painter will work with you on a concept come up with a great design.

Good Luck.

I googled, I ebayed, I dunno about decal. Its gonna look like a cheap sticker job.

I think Im going to go with air brushing myself. How much you guys think the tools would cost? Green, blue, white, what other colors was it? :P

if you're not an artist don't try airbrushing it yourself because all you'll do is mess up a good helmet. i would ask around at a HD shop since many HD riders get custom paint jobs on their bikes gas tanks, fenders etc. if a guy can put a custom design on a gas tank i'm sure he can paint a helmet also. good luck
