New radar detector system for bikes

Saw this over at another forum, http://www.radarforbikes.com/
If I could find an independent wherein it tested well against V-1 and/or 9500 Escort I'd be all over it.

Interesting setup. I have the V1 Mounted on my K. I'm working on remotely mounting the main unit and putting the remote display above the tach. I don't think I want the audio warning.

I like the LED "visual alert" portion.

Still, I really like the voice announcements (e.g. "Ka Band") out of the 9500i through an Autocom headset. I may miss the visual alert, but the vocal is unmistakable.

Now the new Escort Z4/9500ci setup would really be cool as it also jams the laser gun.

Exclamation

Hi, I wrote Adaptive an eMail and they replied that there was an independent test done by speedlabs (http://www.speedlabs.com). Adaptive stated that they can not release the results. So, I wrote speedlabs a mail and they (Carl) replied me that they tested it, but the results can only be released by Adaptiv.

Oooook, I called Adaptive (Wayne) and they ask me to forward the mail from speedlabs which I did. The day after I got the test results from them. The product TPX passed all speedlabs tests. Just call Adaptiv, they will send it to you the results on request.

FYI.. they are sending me one of these detectors for evaluation for an upcoming newsletter.. I've already got both a V1 and a Passport 8500 so I'll be testing it side-by-side with these... I flat out told them.. if it doesn't measure up to either I'll hit them hard in my review.. They flat out said... We're willing to take that bet... Sounded pretty confident.

I'm not so much excited about the radar detector .. I mainly want the tiny wireless in-helmet audio alert.. Nobody on earth is doing that!!.. The HARD unit is close but no cigar...I've been waiting for something like that for years..

I'll post my results once I get the kit and ride with it awhile...

Pashnit.com members are doing a group buy on these right now. Price: $309.00

Pashnit membership is $20/yr IIRC. If you live on the left coast and don't know about pashnit you are missing out IMO.

I am a member of pashnit as well i have the test results. yes pashnit is doing a group buy yes the price is what it is but the test results are not that great. There is no pop protection it is not RDD proof and the laser test only pased when they pointed the laser at the detector so I am not so sure it is the best unit out there. It is water proof and shock resistant but you can put a V1 or any other top radar in a water proof case and use it in the rain if you need to. I am not sure it is worth the $$$$ any response i welcome it.
