Pilot Power 2CT

I'm no longer a bike commuter since I have a company car. My '07 GT sits in the garage on the the trickle charger waiting for the next good weekend. Since I'm not racking up the miles on my bike anymore like I used to, I am considering going to a no-compromise track/sport tire. I want the stickiest street tire I can get, not necessarily because I'm such a hooligan (I'm not) but because I want the absolute best performance from the tires for handling and safety.

I'm never two-up. I'm never over gross take-off weight.

Any tire gurus or hooligans have any experience with the 2CT on a GT-2?

Chuck

Did your son ever convince you to get out on the track?

Dave

(Can't help you with the Pilots, I run M3s. Which I love on the track)

I was OK with it, but conflicting schedules made it go away for the time being. He and I went out on our twin bikes last weekend to a gun show, and he turned into a total hooligan. I'm afraid he's going to launch that bike into a low-Earth orbit and the Navy will shoot him down.

Chuck,
Grif has been running the P2's for quite awhile now. I haven't heard him say anything about them since they were new. I'm either going with the P2's or the Avon Storm's next.

The P2's have worked purdy dayem good. The mileage has been exceptional lately as the dayem bike has been parked due to 16 hour days. It's a beyotch to have to toil for a buck.

I received my PR2 tiers today and mounted them. The rear one looks good but the front tire looks like its been mounted wrong, the grooves are pointing backwards.
Is it just my imagination, or doesn't the grooves always point in the direction the way the wheel turns.
I hope we have a descent day on Sunday, so I can take the bike for a spin. I only had a chance to ride the GS lately, so its going to be interesting how the bike handles with the PR2.

Chuck,

The arrow is pointing in the right direction, the tread just looks backwards to me.

The Pilot Power is an excellent sticky tire and great handling tire when a sticky handling tire is needed or wanted.

Most people that use a PPower as the tire was intended, wear the sides out before the center. Think about the P2 and decide if you think it's not a solution for a problem not yet identified. Food for thought.
