vanity plates, anyone ?

i'll pick up my KRS on friday. Since it is flawless and almost new, my biggest headache right now is vanity plates. FLAT4 is already taken (guess by some Impreza knucklehead), so is 4FLAT. It's the bike I always wanted, so 'F1NALY' would work. but it doesn't really kick me.

any brigth ideas this morning ?

keep safe. cheers.

I was considering grabbing a "K1200R" vanity plate for my K12R Sport but figured the odds of it being available in my state were infinitesimal. In fact, they were -- until a fellow I met at a Beemer dealer's weekend get-together told me that just the day before he had turned in his "K1200R" vanity plate in favor of "K1200S" to adorn his new bike. It seems he had just traded his "R" for the "S".

Since I have the "Sport", I passed up the chance to favor someone who has the naked edition and opted for my bike's nickname "Wotan". At any rate, what you might want to do is name your bike and go with that as a vanity plate.

mine was "RSPECT" for my K12R. remember the K12R ad campaign? it was "RESPECT". i actually like that the plate isn't fully spelled out. that way the first "R" represents the "R" in K12R. in your case, the "RS" would work too. "RSpect". i dunno. just a thought.

i personally think spending the money for vanity plates only to show the brand or the model is lame and unoriginal. how many ways do you really need to advertise you're riding a bmw? let's put it this way, if you saw a Harley with "H-D" on the plate, would that impress you? we all love our BMs, but it just screams "i am compensating!" when you have to reiterate your brand.

your vanity plates ought to make the person behind you think "ahh, that's clever!"

a friend who also rides a K12R got plates that say "FNFAST".

lots of possibilities...
"L84WRK" - Late for work - explains the speeding
"U R M" - Ultimate Riding Machine
"DONOR" - OK, maybe not.
"RIDHRD" - Ride Hard
"LIV2RD" - Live to Ride
"ZZZ" - sleeper
"SCHNLL" - can't go wrong with German.

I have "SCHNL" ready to go when I order a K1200R. Five letters is really restrictive when it comes to thinking of a decent vanity plate, though.
