Curve Cowboy Reunion - Aug 25-29, 2008 - Midway, UT

The Curve Cowboy Reunion began with a few BMW enthusiasts who met at Broken Bow, Oklahoma, over three days in September, 2000. They created the opportunity for owners and riders to get together, 'in real life', outside of the internet. The camaraderie and joy of the ride at that beginning leads us still, this year to Midway, Utah, in August. As the concept of Luxury Touring changed from a singular focus on the K1200LT, the reunion opened itself to enthusiasts on all brands and models of motorcycle with an emphasis on the two-up motorcycle travel experience. The CCR event promotes three fundamental goals: to present a positive view of motorcycling; to promote rider education and safety; and to make a positive impact by contributing to a worthy local group serving children to help them achieve its charitable purpose in the host community.
  • Are you looking for something different than the usual fare for a motorcycle rally?
  • Are you looking for an event that is geared to the rider as well as the passenger?
  • Are you or your spouse tired of riding thousands of miles only to find yourselves camping on the ground in the rain and long for the luxuries of a first-class hotel, room service, spa, or a heavenly bed?
We propose a solution that has worked for us since the millennium....

In August, ride to Utah and spend August 26 through August 29, 2008 with us at the PREMIER, two-up Moto-Touring event of the year, and 'camp out' with us at the new Zermatt Resort and Spa in Midway.

Located in the heart of the Wasatch Mountains near Park City and Sundance Resort areas, Zermatt Resort and Spa will be a great location for this year's reunion. The spectacular views of the Heber Valley surround a charming community settled by Swiss immigrants in the 1860s. Zermatt acknowledges early Swiss influence and is reminiscent of a beautiful chalet, located minutes from great local rides including the Mirror Lake Byway, Nebo Loop, Ogden River Byway, and Alpine Loop. Other incredible and scenic routes are to be found at Utah Byways and National Scenic Byways Online.

CCR is open to anyone, regardless of their preferred brand or model of motorcycle, but the event grew out of the BMW Luxury Touring Community at www.bmwlt.com (formerly the K1200LT Group at YahooGroups) and continues to be dominated by BMW touring and dual sport motorcycles.

If this is sounds like what you've been looking for, take a virtual tour of CCR and visit the rest of our website, or come join us on the internet at the BMW Luxury Touring Community in the Curve Cowboy Reunion Message Board, and watch the tension build as August nears!!! BUT, you should know this event is put on entirely by volunteers and the format and venue always force us to limit attendance. Each year we have held the event we have sold out our available space well in advance of the event, so we urge you to reserve your spot as soon as you can! We look forward to seeing you at this year's Curve Cowboy Reunion. Don't miss out on CCR this year!!!

I was just up there this past weekend helping get things set up for CCR, and I can tell you the resort and the surrounding areas are awesome! There is a massive amount of great riding in the area. I laid out some routes in Mapsource and it looks like you could easily ride 300+ miles of twisty backroads a day for 3-4 days and rarely touch the same piece of tarmac. And if you want to do something different while there they have hiking, mountain biking, rafting, kayaking horseback riding, fly fishing, even scuba diving in a caldera! There's also a full spa on site at the resort.

If any of this sounds like a good time to I highly recommend checking out the CCR site and joining us there in August. It's going to be a blast!

Fixed it for you!

Anyone want to know about the three, wild Irish gals that staggered into the bar at Zermatt?

Oh yeah, Grif. What about the gals from Vegas. And what about that one that pulled out a Hot Wheel car out of her bra? Surreal to say the least.

BTW, we got the go ahead for the Booze Brothers at the Gazebo!

The rumour that I was pushing around the Hot Wheel car that came from the Vegas gal's bra is just that, a rumour. I did smell of it, however.

No, it was the hot Irish chick who told us all about how her husband hasn't touched her in 7 months. That was the highlight of the scouting trip.

Can only add I was in the area last week on a group ride to the AMA/WSBK races at Miller Motorsports and along the way rode UT 35 from Duchesne to Francis (Just east of Park City). What a fantastic road.

Yes, UT 35 is one of the best kept secrets in Utah. Probably because most maps show 16 miles of it as a gravel road. It's now new pavement, perfect for "brisk" rides.

Did you stop at the restaurant in Hanna and get those "Where the hell is Hanna" t-shirt?
