new to me K12RS

Blue monkey post #1
I just bought a 2002 K1200RS w/19k on it. I have a couple questions if anyone can help I would appreciate it. The engine idle when warm sound like it has ticking or light knocks, is this normal? Note the bike has been chipped and has a two brothers pipe.
Also I was told by a friend following me on the highway that the two brothers muffler seems to have excessive movement. Can the slip on springs get weak?
The owners maual speaks of self cancelling turn signals, is this optional equipment or could it be that it just doesn't work on mine.
I have ridden the bike for two days now and love everything about it. I had no idea that a machine could be this powerful and smooth.

Thanks,
Kevin

You are going to LOVE the bike.

I had the two brothers exhaust. Is the attachment point on the left side below the seat secure? It's a slip on? Mine was a whole exhaust/header (with no catalytic)

Self canceling signals take time / distance. Have you tried not turning them off? Try it and see.

Keep asking questions! I have a 2002 K1200RS that I bought just two years ago. I was a noob then too!

First thing...does the noise go away when you pull in the clutch? If so, they all do that...(common phrase from BMW riders, I might add).

15 flashes at speed (freeway speed, I think above 35 is the crossover point between time [above 35] and distance traveled [below]). Also, don't be surprised if you honk the horn cancelling left turns. We all have done that...

I went for a short ride this morning, and the signals do cancel, the ticking sound at idle mostly goes away when the clutch is pulled.
Thanks,
kevin
