Guys, Safety First when riding your bikes

Hi guys,

I nearly got into an accident on my bike the day before yesterday. Kind of put the fear of God in me. I was going to pass 2 stalled cars (1 of them a taxi) parked on the double yellow lines one behind the other my left and suddenly the taxi just shoot out. I guess it was not stalled. Luckily, I jammed on the brake (though not fully as I let the ABS assist) and managed to stop in time without going over the handlebars. The taxi driver just ignored the incident and assumed it was my fault. I just want to remind my fellow bikers to be more careful on the road especially from potential accident situations like this. Many car drivers just do not understand that they need to be extra careful when bikes are on the road.

Ride safe and ride fast, but ride carefully.

Thanks

I couldn't quite follow the set up, but trust me, cabs (Taxis) are only concerned about getting from one fare to the next. They are the worst kind of "professional" drivers on the road.
Extra room for their unpredictability is always wise.

Punk kids in SUV's piss me off.

Sounds like ABS might have saved you and your bike on that one.

We lost a rider two days ago in LAS VEGAS he had been ridding for thirty years and was a big advocate for motorcycle safety courses.

Eight bikers killed this year in Las Vegas. The fucxx cars run the red lights. It is to be expected here with 24 hour drinking and a party all the time.

Glad your OK

It wasnt to long ago on my first GT. I pulled into a restaurant to grab a bit. I get off the bike and less than 10 seconds later a guy looses control of his truck and runs over my GT.
I ride a bicycle now, (specialized tricross) and will get another GT when I have time to accommodate the all the BS at the BMW dealer. I love motorcycles because they take my mind off of everything else except trying to stay alive. Now theres a great accomplishment.
