Question 1985 k100rt speedometer

Speedometer sometimes works sometimes doesnt How do I clean the rear wheeel sensor and must you go inside the hub at all?

To clean the sensor, remove the bolt with an allen wrench (in the toolkit) gently pry the sensor upwards to remove it, you can then clean the face of it (i used brake cleaner) also put a small amount of cleaner on a rolled up rag and insert it into the hole and rotate the wheel, you should get some dirt on the rag.....

speedo

You can try to clean sensor, but , its probably not that. 85s are known for speedo clusters to go bad and there are some postings directing the repair and modifications needed to fix.
