Silly Observation: The "Unstoppable" F800GS

Last night I got around to looking at the January 2009 issue of Rider Magazine. On the cover is a large photo of the new BMW F800GS. Above the F800GS, in huge letters, it says "Unstoppable!"

Now, I know what they meant, but I had to point out the double entendre ... as in "the brakes don't work."

If you do an Internet search for "unstoppable" and F800GS, you will find many links. Here is one example:

I have no idea who started the "unstoppable" tagline for the F800GS. I assume it was someone in BMW's marketing department. I do wonder, "What were they thinking?"

Nothing that a gravel riddled, steep dowhill slope with a large tree at the end won't cure.

What was that middle thang?

funny. I wondering about the bike. Motorcyclist did a write up this month and they seemed to love the bike, without describing it as "unstoppable."

In my profession, there is a saying, "all bleeding stops eventually." I would say by analogy, "all bikes stop eventually!"

p.s. I DO want that bike though!

Isn't unstoppable the new BMW motorrad slogan? I thought it applies to all bikes. Not really too sure now.
