Bears sense pizza smell in a Harley top case and maul the bike.

Bear and her cubs maul Harley looking for leftover pizza.

Good thing the BMW cases come off and can go into a bear-proof storage locker while camping.

Bad thing is a couple of cubs in Larimer County, CO now know a motorcycle case as a possible source of food.

If the guy's Harley cost $3000 for getting knocked over and mauled, imagine a BMW's cost. Mine (a K1200GT) ran up a bill of $4,500 once in a tip-over and it wasn't even chewed on. A BMW may be totaled out by a bear and a couple of cubs with all it's expensive plastic.

only problem is, now the bears probably get labeled...."problem bears" when in fact they're only hungry, opportunistic and don't have human "manners"

WOW! That's just too funny, but scary too. Plenty of times I've camped with food in the bike.

Natural Prey

Don't bears consider "hogs" their natural prey? Maybe the pizza had nothing to do with it....
