Luck of the Irish

My 2008 K12S is the 1st bike of 6 with a countdown fuel range odometer that is optimistic. All the other ones, when it shows --- miles, I still had 5-30 miles to go.

Sunday, heading to a gas station near home on fairly quiet 2-lane & countdown showed 4 miles to go. Engine became very quiet. Pulled in the clutch at 50mph or so, shifted down to neutral & coasted to the pumps at the station.

The first time it happened, I rolled UPHILL to the station across the road.

Each time, the bike took approximately 5.2 gallons, to the top of the ring.

So, now I have confirmed that 4 = 0 on my countdown.

You, sir, are brave! I hate pushing or walking, at least when not by choice. I'm looking for a station when I see 30 miles to empty.

We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit. Will Durant
