Thumbs up Back Again

Out of all the motorcycles I've owned (which is a whole lot of 'em) my '07 K12S was my favorite. A while back I had a momentary lapse of judgment and traded it for an '09 Ducati Monster 1100S. After a few months I decided I wasn't really a Monster kind of guy so I sold it. Got a good deal on an (used?) '08 FJR1300 with 380 miles on it. It's a great motorcycle and I rode it for a few months but I didn't really feel stimulated like I had been on the K12S. Last week I was visiting the local BMW dealership, which just happens to be one of my favorite places to hang out, and spotted the K13S in the middle of the showroom floor. I've been ogling this motorcycle for a little while now. It was decked out with every available option except the alarm system. I finally decided to see what kind of deal I could make and asked the dealership owner to "run the numbers" for me. I'm not getting excited or hopeful as in my mind I know there's no way the deal can be made, but I want to be able to say to myself that I tried. Needless to say, the S no longer resides on the dealership showroom floor but now calls my garage its home. How true is the old adage that you don't know if you don't ask.'s good to be back; and on a machine that's better than my K12S was. I didn't think that was possible.

No more abrupt throttle response or clunky transmission. The K13S is much smoother on both counts. The shift assist is absolutely outstanding.

Post pics. Are you going to farkelize? If so what will be first? The first and second things I upgraded on my '06 were the seat (bagster) and the exhaust (from Two Bros to Leo Vince).

Where is your dealer? I live in Spring Hill and my dealer is in Tampa at Eurocycles. I do ride down to West Palm and Ft. Lauderdale and would like to know where other daelerships are along the way.

My dealer is Gulf Coast Motorcycles in Fort Myers.

The motorcycle came with the BMW Akrapovic slip-on and optional luggage rack. So far the only things I've done are Grab On grip covers, Hyper-Lites, Heli Bar Trac Star handlebars, BMW helmet lock and BMW side cases. Next is an MRA tinted windshield and a Sargent seat with storage pod.

No photos yet.
