A Which Bike Question

Hi,this is my first post, just joined the forum(to enable me to make this post)but I have been reading the forum for months.

I want to buy a Bike for holiday use in the USA,about 4 weeks and 5K miles a year, the rest of the time it will be kept in a brick gaarage probably under a cover.

It will be kept & used in the Ky/Tn area in Spring/Autumn always 2up day trips & mostly backroads never above 75mph,we're in our sixties so racing dosn't apply.

Because of the limited use I want to spend about $3K & i'm torn between a K75 or an
R80,i feel for the $3K i stand a better chance of buying the right K75 rather than the right R80(they seem to be going up in value).I've owned older R's in the past in the 70's(in the UK), when they where new,but have never even sat on a K

My main concern is maintenance/servicing,because of limited access to the bike(the only time i'll see it we'll be riding it).

I've read just about every post I can find on the forum about the K75,& what appeals to me is all the comments i've read about their Smoothness, when your old smooth is good & we've been riding a Harley

Not sure if i've posted this in the right section, all thoughts & comments really appreicated.

I personally would rather have an R than a K with such limited use... just a simpler machine, but that's me.
