Used bike prices

I know that used bike prices suck, but is anything selling? Do you have to almost give them away to sell them? The reason I am asking is I found a r1150rt I want to buy, but I need to sell my k before I can buy the r. I know if I am not rich enough to own two BMWs then I do not need a BMW. Anyway, I can afford one used BMW. What is funny is the range of prices on the 04 rts from 5k to 10k. Nada high on that bike is 6700. Banks only lend low nada, 5800. So is life. Thanks

I can say that around here bikes are not selling well, or I should say not selling well for the seller. Buyers are having a field day, there just arent many of them. PrivateAxis has a K12R for sale in LA for what I think is a very reasonable price (considering it's a nice bike with lots of extras) and he hasn't been able to sell it. Of course he may not be a "motivated seller" if you know what I mean

And considering a lot of dealers are dumping used bikes and even discounting new bikes to ridiculous levels, I have a feeling the market is going to be soft for quite some time.

Maybe I should pull the trigger on that track bike I want...

I just bought a 1998 K1200RS with 15K miles on it for 4.6k.

Based on the required repairs, (about 2.5K), I over paid for it.

Ouch. Did you know about the needed repairs or did someone pull a fast one on you?

EDIT: I just read your swingarm post and I think that answers my question. That has got to be frustrating.
