It's that time of year again! I have the details together for the ride to Fort Bragg for this year. Here's what we have so far -
Saturday & Sunday, October 23 - 24
Travelodge (same location as past years, just part of the chain now)
763 N Main St
We have a block of 30 rooms, including -
14 - 2 double beds
10 - 1 King bed
6 - 2 bedroom mini-suites (2 separate bedrooms with 1 bed in each) with a sitting area
Reservations can be made starting today. Tell the desk agent you are with the David Taylor BMW Party
to get our special rates. The cutoff for getting rooms in our block is September 30th. After that the block will be released and go back to their normal rates.
Tony's Seafood Restaurant
18863 Highway 1
We'll meet here for lunch at 11:45 a.m. They will open early to seat us so we don't have to wrestle with the regular lunch crowd. Best BBQ'd oysters anywhere, I swear!
North Coast Brewery Tap Room
, 6:30 p.m.
Normal deal here, they'll stick us in the banquet room to avoid scaring the locals and we'll be able to order from the full menu. They remembered we are a prime rib heavy kinda crowd, I didn't even have to remind them!
And yes, they still have all the fantastic beer you could want!
Rides To and From:
Everyone pretty much does their own thing going and coming. Some folks get together and ride up and/or back, but this isn't an organized group ride where we all meet and go together in a big gaggle. This gives folks the flexibility to choose routes, stops, etc., and ride at their own pace, which keeps everyone safe and happy. Basically you know when and where lunch is, and when and where dinner is, and the riding part you get to choose and enjoy as you see fit! I'll be happy to post a Garmin file with the various stops and even some suggested routes if folks would like some suggestions. Just let me know.
That's pretty much it for now. Feel free to start booking your rooms, and once you've done that please add your name to the roster I've started on the thread on BMWLT.com or here so I can give the restaurants a headcount.
Can we go now?!?!!!
