Cool If you thought BMW's were pricey...........

I ran across this little toy for the man who has a spare $18,999 for a dirt bike that is a lot slower than an HP2. The cool thing is it has a military diesel engine. I sent an E-mail to the company and they told me a run of 150 to 200 will be made for interested parties. It gets 102 MPG and has a 600 mile range. I think I'll stick with a BMW R1200GSA coming out in 2 more weeks.

What do you get for that kind of money?

A 1988 Kawasaki KLR 650 with the engine swapped out for a diesel.

Sure it gets great milage but look at the accelleration figures. The diesel has far less horsepower, The stock gas engine is well over twice as fast 0-60MPH. I think I will stick with gas engines for a bit longer.

Well, it does answer one question...can they have just one fuel in terms of logistics for military operations? If so, makes their process sooo much easier. I doubt they were intersted in much more than that.

There's a website for everything......

But I think Razel is right - it was most likely a military request - although I can find a link.....
