Perhaps it has to do with a complaint I heard regarding the "anti-stoppie" circuit within the anti-lock brake system. I had heard when the rear wheel lifted the brake system "released" brakes to allow the rear to come back down. Don't know the validity of the complaint, but from the numbers of the recall, that may be it.

Doesn't affect my bike as mine has no anti-lock brakes. Anybody heard anything concrete regarding the recall???????

My RT had an inspection done at the 12k service recently. Sounds like what their talking about here. It had to do with a low voltage/abs fault. The brakes are fine.
I had my S in the shop Saturday for new shoes. While it was there they hooked it up to the computer and installed 2 fixes for the software. One was something to do w/ the parking light, and an engine mngt. update.
These are complex machines, stuff is going to happen. That's why there's a warranty.

Just a little bit more information.

According to my sources, this recall will be an expansion of the one for the K1200LT and R1150RT from last year

NOTE: THESE DOCUMENTS ARE FROM THE PREVIOUS RECALL, NOT THE NEW ONE.

From NHTSA:

Probably right judging by the pic on that German site.
