bikes totalled, got a question?

I talked with my insurance adjuster today and they are going to total my bike, a K1200RS. They offered me the salvage for $1,700, but I'm worried about getting the parts sold. How easy do the body panals, motor, final drive, tranny, rear wheel sale on the site/ebay?

The front end is toast and there are problems with the sub-frame. The dealer mentioned the engine was in good condition and so is the rear of the bike.

Does anyone have experience with bike salvage and is it worth my time?

You MIGHT get 25% of list price on average for body panels in very good to excellent condition.
You should make some money on the bike. But, you are not going to get rich off of it.
Generally, parts sales are done much better on sites like this and not on eBay.

If you want a different type of project there are a couple different kits like the one at the link below.
