Motorcycle Concours d'Elegance

Went to the Legend of the Motorcycle yesterday at the Ritz-Carlton in Half Moon Bay, CA. Tickets in advance were steep at $50, but it was well worth it; I've never seen such an amazing collection of bikes of all types!

Photo album here.

Rode down to the coast with a couple of buddies after having breakfast at Alice's...

I was supposed to borrow a beautiful old black Ninja 1000 with lots of chrome, except the fuel petcock was leaking. So, I wound up snapping some road shots. Here's a friend on his 996:

Followed this old Delahaye down to the coast for a while.

Pulled over to take a pic of the front as he passed by; camera lagged, but I got this...

The scene at my summer cottage:

Lots of unbelievable Broughs...

and Crockers...

Thumbs up re: Motorcycle Concours d'Elegance

Very cool!!! Would have loved to have been there, thanks for sharing the photographs Steve. Can you expound a little on the crowd situation, from these photographs it appears there was a fairly small turnout? Did you get the impression that this was a low volume of visitors?

We were there from around 11-2, and the crowd was heavier than the pictures posted suggest. Any heavier, and it would have become bothersome to easily see the bikes. My guess is that the $50 in advance/$65 at the door pricing probably muted the turnout. The bikes were spread out over quite a large space. This pic is more representative; the featured Broughs and Crockers were all the way up to the far side of the hotel, facing the ocean:
