Newbie in distress

I am doing my first 24K service and have a question on removing the final drive unit. IBMWR tech articles only show removal on an older style bike. I have a K1200RS. I am assuming that instead of the four bolts holding the final drive to the shaft assembly, you remove the one large hex bolt just ahead of the final drive. Does anyone have photos/tips on this task?
Cheers Allen

Out of curiosity, any particular reason why you're doing this as part of the 24K service interval? (is there something moving that isn't supposed to?)

I had read that the spline should be greased at 10,000 mi interval.

OK, bad idea. I am leaving this to the dealer. Thanks for saving me a lot of frustration and probably more money.

There is no "spline" as the word is understood to apply to older K bikes.

No 10,000 mile intervals.

No leaving you stranded at the side of the road.

None of that stuff.

Pay NO ATTENTION to older articles on older K-bikes. They
just flat DO NOT apply to the K12's

Ya, what he said.

You also don't have to do a clutch-spline lube, either.
