Anyone tried electric shift on BMWs?

With Yamaha bringing out electric thumb operated shift on their 1300 tourer ,it got me thinking. Has anyone tried aftermarket electric shift kits on any of their road bikes? Was it smooth and trouble free? I wonder if BMW will up the ante and bring out electric shift in 2007 now.
