great trick to renew your wind screen

back in the early 80s while in the army i was in an avn unit and an cwo pilot showed me a trick to get the" fog" out of there windshields on there UH1....first clean real good....let dry.....with a clean rag and transmission oil rub up and down as to work the oil in well.....then start wiping it off untill the rag stays clean....i did this to my k12gt and the plastic is like new!....wont get rid of scratches....bugs dont stick i have washed it maybe 4 times and its still like new.....for scatches he used toothpast i havent tried that yet...but i remember him saying it had to be this brand...but i dont remember what that was
