I run a website (forum of a different topic) and people said the same thing at one point. A simple check of the email headers, showed that the ‘from’ address was spoofed, not actually from my server. Probably the same kind of thing here. Someone posing as [email protected]
I just got spamed with a Geza solicitation from this site. How do I keep this from happening? I get plenty of spam and don't need any more. What is happening with regard to our privacy?
We protect your privacy in every way possible. The email addresses given to register are never shared, sold or disclosed to any other entities. What you received was likely spoofing k-bikes.com email address. If you provide a public email address in your profile, it is available to every other registered member.

But all the time I've been a member here, I haven't had spam which I could say came from my registration. If you open up a message in raw view you can trace the server routes. They just got lucky with your email. If you opened it up and have read receipts enabled, you'll probably get some more!
I selectively download email headers now and dump the stuff before I open.
