Wow... impressive new sports tourer

http://www.motorcycledaily.com/23sep...6_concours.htm

Gotta admit guys, this thing looks impressive, (little more plastic than I'm used to these days) the bike will have some serious mumbo, is a shaft drive and for the first time I can see the Japanese have used a parallelogram assy on the shaft to cancel the "jacking" effect. I can't think of another Jap shaft drive thats done that. A double sided swingarm, imagine carrying weight will be good.

Just impressed! it's a hell of a replacement tourer for the GTR, Connie as it was called in the states..
Be interesting to see wether it's acceptable looking with the hard luggage off.

No arguing persistance of model... just saying it's impressive.

Anyway the extra 90 degree will sap power, no argument, but I don't see it as being dissimilar to the KGT, when you've got mumbo HP, a small loss in the drive assy is really insignificant. (sp?)

Expect they're aiming at the FJR/KGT models more than the ST/RRT models...

That bike is very attractive. I'd rather have it than a GT

They're out there. The Concours Owners Group had their national rally in Hill City, SD the end of June. We had close to 300 show up. Not many by CCR standards, but was nice seeing that many Connies in one place.

Impressive. Yamaha FJR will have competition with that bike. Now Honda needs to update the ST1300. I would love to see Honda do a 1300 Intercepter with shaft drive.

the ZX-14 has been UNIVERSALLY praised by every owner i know (and i know PLENTY who've logged thousands of miles).

this bike intrigues me a great deal
it'll be a winner for sure....
they'll sell every one they make... and they'll make 5 times more than BMW will make KGTs.... you can bet on that

I am a ricer at heart and my 04KGT is my 1st beemer. I would have thought about getting rid of the beemer for the Kawi but from what I understand the Kawi has no cruise. After having cruise I cannot understand why the others wouldn't do cruise to that kind of bike. I guess I am stuck with the beemer.
