In a effort to smooth out the low speed throttle yips I have tried starting out in 2nd gear. It seems to help some and is a lot less shifting. Does any one else do this? Is there any harm that can happen to the bike doing this?
I've done it quite a bit going to work. It's then like a scooter...no shifting needed from 0-70 mph! Maybe a tiny bit more clutch wear, but it's got plenty of power to just go without slipping the clutch.

I actually find the bike a bit more burpy in 2nd than I do in 1st. I find that the slightest amount of throttle provides reasonable performance in 1st.
How do I know if I have the latest software?
