fairing decals?

i always thought the checkerboard decals on the kgt were painted on. are they decals, if so, who sells them?

I bought a replacement from an Authorized BMW Motorrad dealer for one that got banged up when the bike fell over.

BMW has them, as mentioned. Click on the Sticker picture for an enlargement and the part numbers (courtesy of Max BMW online fische).

Edit: Well, that link doesn't work...at all. Go to Max BMW fische, click on K1200RS, select the 1996-2000 model year option, then Vehicle Trim/Painted Par(ts), then the Sticker catagory. Lists the decal as item #1.

If you select the 2000-2004 model year, it shows the Sticker catagory, but doesn't provide the index to the part number

Max's doesn't list the checkerboard on the BOM.

Have they discontinued this?

Checkerboard was earlier than 2002, look at the 98-01 year.

I saw a pic of a black RS with the checkerboard and thought it looked pretty slick.
