synthetics solution

virtually all upscale car manufacturers ie: porsche, corvette, lotus. now come with pure synthetics. my wife's bmw 330 has syn, dealer changes oil every 15k miles. they warrant these engines fully and get a lot better results than with dino oil. use mobil 15-50 pure synthetic.

I like full synthetic too, but one question for you "oily experts"... is there any truth/benefit to using dino oil in the K12 for the first 20-30k miles, THEN switch to full syn?

Consider less oil consumption for remainder of life, better performance etc?

Yep. It will allow gaskets to seal properly....otherwise...molecules in synthetics are so small...they will seap past new gaskets.

How many miles till the switch?

What do you put in gearbox and final drive, for a 25 k bike?

Switch. Use heavy weight gear oil in both the rear diff and transmission. One Liter will take care of both. You will be amazed what running full syn in the engine will do for her. Engine will be more smooth, horsepower gain, and will rev more freely. Also ..will run cooler and longer between changes.

Anything extracted from a dinosaur corpse which is atleast 20 million years old is good.

Don't be fooled ... that new fangled dinosaur juice which is only 10 million years old or less is just a fad. It will be so yesterday in just a few thousand years ...
