next New Guy Question- Plug?

Next question pertains to a three wire plug under the front of the tank area, near the head stock. This plug is tie-wrapped to the wiring harness, and I am hoping it has some promise as something like an accessory plug.

I need a switched power source for my GPS.

Is this a power source, and is there a matching plug available?

There has been discussion on the forum about this exact item. Don't ask me how to use the "search" to find it!
There is a factory plug(4-wire, I believe) for the optional GPS on a '04KRS that is taped to the lower cowl rail. I don't believe that you can get a matching end from BMW.

I forgot what year your bike is, so I really can't comment if the plug you found is aux. power or not.

Have you considered wiring up a separate fuse panel(so you can go nuts with farkles) like so many of us have??

I had originally thought I would do only my Zumo... but after riding the K12RS a little... I am beginning to think my escort would be a good idea... maybe the extra panel would be on-target.

Would still like to know what that plug is... and it is 1998 bike.

Plug

I think the plug you refer to is the lead for heated grips. Is one of the wires green/black?
