Exhaust Remus or TwoBrothers

I am shopping for an exhaust system for my new 2001 k1200rs, first need more power and second I like the 98DBA and above, anyone with knowledge on this topic appreciated, I dont know why two brothers you have to repack them every 10,000 miles, and Im looking for a clean install also and something that wont corrode over time.

Spectrum Exhaust

As you are in WA state.......be sure to check out the not yet well know Spectrum Exhaust; I installed on my 04GT when new at South Sound BMW..........Darren, the parts manager is now at the new BMW of Western Oregon in Tigard and handles the product. Reduces weight by over 18lbs as I remember; eliminates cat converter but retains O2 sensor; oh yea....adds more than 11HP at rear wheel with no loss throughtout RPM range; all titanium with, I'm told by all the service people, perfect TI welding/and fitment. Looks great and sounds even better: not loud....more like a F1 when on the throttle; otherwise not much more than stock. This is not a slip on, but a full system ....not cheap either: paid about 1800 for it....but understand Staintune and others are increasing and not even a full system. Check it out: I'm just a very....did I say very....satisfied customer. email me if you want more info.......

Well, I've had both the Remus Titanium full exhaust, and now the TwoBros full titanium exhaust. Contrary to what's been stated, both Remus and TwoBros only offer a full exhaust for the RS or GT. No slip on cans due to the unique nature of the BMW stock exhaust. Both are better than stock in mid range. While I don't have dyno results, I have my riding buddy who rides the same RS that I do. When I was stock and he was TwoBros he pulled me like I was sitting still in the mid range. I went to a Remus exhaust and the difference was smaller but he still pulled me in a small rpm range around 7000. I went to a TwoBros system as he has, and while the difference was smaller, he was still pulling me. By this time I was going slightly mad. The difference was that he had his pipes coated with JetHot. I had mine done the same, and now we pull equal. Whichever system you chose try the JetHot coating. It works, and IMO looks a lot better.

BTW The Remus has a more metalic sound while the TwoBros is louder. Both sound great. I wouldn't worry too much about the repacking. It's only a $25 kit and easy to do yourself, and you can go longer than the 10,000 miles. The pipe just gets louder.

I know a lot of BMW riders like the quite life. That's OK by me. IMO a motorcycle just isn't right unless it sounds like a motorcycle. Aftermarket exhaust is the FIRST thing I do to any new bike.

Thanks for the info. Mind me asking how much it cost and how long did it take Jet-Hot to return your headers?
