Unhappy Sewing Machine

My bike (2000 k1200rs) is way too [email protected]$%ing quiet. i cant even hear my own bike when riding solo let alone with my harley buddies.

i'm not really interested in more power but it wouldnt hurt. more torque would be nice but what i really want to do is be able to hear it.

what exhaust would you reccommend for some more sound

thanks in advance.

I've had both the Remus and TwoBros on my 02 KRS. IMO the TwoBros sounds the best. I felt the same way as you, I didn't want to hear a sewing machine. I get nothing but compliments on how mine sounds. Including from the Harley guys. You'll have to go with a full exhaust system no matter what product you choose. Should cost around $900, but every now and then you can pick one up slightly used for less.

I'd also suggest coating the headers with Jet Hot ceramic.

The coating will add mid range power and looks a lot better than bare pipes.

Two Brothers.....

I happen to have a TB system that I took off my wife's recently purchased 1999 K1200RS.

The bike had 40,000 on it, but have no idea how many miles are on the exhaust. Asking 500 plus shipping costs.

I does sound pretty sexy, and lighter than stock....We do a lot of bike camping and tend to leave very early so don't like to wake the neighbors.

Cheers

Re:Remus

I put a Remus Titanium with an WR chip on my "02" just as soon as I got it, some times I wish it had a little more sound, but it's nice compromise and I can hear it when I go WOT.:-)

2002 KRS: AC Schnitzer pipe and header, all Jet-Hot coated. Used in conjunction with a RhineWest chip. Now absolutely brilliant as to sound and as to eliminating all the glitches. There is now no slight 'fluff' when opening up from a completely closed throttle.

Regards,

Ian Thomas.

You want loud? Give me your $900 and I'll take a hacksaw to your muffler.

Re:AC Schnitzer

Ian,

Where did you get your AC Schnitzer pipe? I have AC Schnitzer rims but didn't know about the pipes? Could you post a link? Thanks.:-)

exhaust systems

Love those Harley sounds. Visiting a terminally ill friend in the hospital one Sunday morning. The sound of the local Harley club going past brings a glow to my heart. Or something!

sewing mach

when the previous owner started up my GT I told him " sounds like a sewing mach"
I put 2 B. on mine 2 years later . I wanted to drop the weight and I love the sound around 6000 RPM. I still have the stock if I want to get out my thread and needle.

pipe

I have a 03 gt with a 2 Bros and I love the sound. Bassy at low rpm and get the hell out of my way at higher rpms.
