It does not void your warranty when you or an independant shop performs work on your vehicle. Only concern, unless you have changed or modified anything that was 'not' factory approved or originally equipped. Use approved parts. Use proper torque, and common sense. If you cannot perform the work yourself, take it to a shop that does. An example is your access to special tools, and obviously, your know how.
If your vehicle is still under the factory warranty period by miles and date, warranty will still be honored. Provide there are no tampering or abuse to any part failure. Or a non approved part causing subsequent damage to another part. Your factory technician is the one that will find any and all reasons to deny your warranty coverage (incl. neglect of maintenance) ......from behind the scenes, the factory tech is the one that makes the final call, unless you have a special case where a factory rep is involved, then the tech will have no say.
When you find a Dealer you are comfortable having your bike worked on...... drop off some donuts for the guys.......they'll do everything to help ya..
