GT rubber side strips

Is it possible to fit an RS side panels with the rubber side pieces which are standard on the GT?
I recently had my RS fall over (slowly and assisted) and I think if the strips had been fitted they may have saved an expensive respray of the side panel.

What year?

I really don't know that the side panels of the pre-'02 and later bikes (RS/GT) are the same that came out for the '98, which is why I'm asking. '02 and later, you can by the fairing extensions, but you have to drill holes in the faring. They don't add much in terms of holding the panels off the ground as they're pretty flexible (black rubber is my guess) so that anything 6 or more inches in front of them is going to get scratched anyway.

Peter

They fit right on '02-'04. You have to drill a bunch of holes in your RS panels though! Sure you want to do that???
