Bosch oil filters

Is anyone using the Bosch oil filter?
Beemerboneyard has six-packs for $50.

Sounds good....I'm "assuming" there isn't a problem with the paint coming off.

The filter that BeemerBoneyard sells is the Bosch 72161. Here is a better picture. But if you want a really good price try here.

Sorry Brentbo I hit 'admin edit' instead of reply.

The link I posted is quite old now and I wasn't able to relate the part numbers he tested to current products. Being the sort of cautious person I am, I'd try to get that question answered. For all we know, a different part number could be a different animal inside the same can and made in China.

Hey Brent:

Your link to "RockAuto" rocks! They do have great prices! I have almost exclusively used BMA Auto out of CA for my BMW car parts needs, however RockAuto had even better prices. Thanks for the heads up on that one!

Hmmm... Looking at the Rock Auto page it lists a Mahle filter under the same reference. Mahle makes the "stock" BMW filters. You don't suppose that Mahle OC338 is our stock filter priced at $2.43 ?
