Do you know what this is?

My son-in-law just sent me this picture. Look carefully at the cylinder head.

Its in a Mini Moke.

I thought someone would recognise a K1200 rocker cover and cylinder head.

With some modifications, a person with too much time and money has put this cylinder head onto an A series BMC (Leyland) engine and installed it into a Mini Moke ( a sort of mini Hummer).

I was told this conversion is done in Great Britain sometimes.

Has anyone heard of it before?

there are a lot of really wild rides on the island. on occasion, they make the trip over to the nordschleife (where i spent the first 32 years of my life), and drive the hell out their lunatic creations. pretty common is a honda vtec (e.g. the F20C) in a mini, and with the power to weight ratio there is nothing coming even close to that thing.

be safe. cheesrs.

Not only that, a turbo on the left side. (And a fairly big only it looks like)

Not sure how the intake manifold is going to cross over, though.

Enough room for an intercooler too, it looks like.

My father has a mini moke in his garage. Old green one we used to use at our beach house in the 70's. Believe it is BMC made and i want to say a tiny Aston engine. Britsh built it for para trooper combat mostly coatal, but it proved to be a POS in any type of sand or gravel. I can attest to this as we got it stuck many, many times in the sand. Always bottomed out. It was a good car for the kids though. Turbo charging a mini moke??? uuuuggggghhhhh....

I'm pretty sure that's an APS Turbo from Australia. Put one on my Infiniti G35X along with their intake plenum.
