New Bike / New Member

Hi All,

Just completed on a '99 K1200RS and thought I would drop on by to check out the skinny

It comes with a remote/alarm/immobiliser, panniers, tank bag, rear pack, bar risers, full BMW service history, all the documentaiton, service invoices, etc.

The bike is a little worse for wear for a bit of gravel rash on the RH side. Nothing a rub down, mask and touch-up couldn't cure! Other than a balding back tyre, everything is sweet - and at 2000 a bit of a bargain for a 16K Mile bike. The owner is tiny and wheeling it out of the garage, just lost balance and over she went.

I think the guy just wanted rid of it... I got a pretty package with it - Optimate battery tender, tools, spares, BMW leather jacket, Caberg flip, disc lock.

Looking forward to exploring the limits

Keep it on the shiny side!

Smile That's a great deal!

You made out on that deal for trade-in value here in the states. Most of the dealers here won't go much over $4000 for any of the 1st gen K1200RS bikes. Of course, the price is double when you want to buy one. For a couple hundred quid for tyres and the like, you'll have a bike that will run with the best of them for years.

Welcome!

I'm beginning to find out just what a bargain it is...

Took the soft luggage for a 150M trip on Sunday - she loved it, up until 90MPH, at which time the beating on my back made me back it down

The BT-021s seem to be a great match for it - nothing but a planted feel and no adverse handling issues at all. need to work on the damping and preload for 2-up touring, though.

Not too impressed with the economy, but after a 20 year diet of old Italian twins and euro singles, I guess it is the price you pay for 140MPH plus speeds...

This is my first big displacement 4-across-the-frame bike since my GSX1100E - and that must have been about 1981!

Wow...
Looks like you got one heck of a deal.

I remember when my odometer said that...

WOW! The GSX1100E.......I used to put those things together at a Suzuki shop I worked at in Massillon, Ohio. Those things were monsters!!
Welcome and congratulations.
