Small. If that's the route you want to go.

Same grips as on my '08. Put 'em on, took 'em off.
Leaving them on my RT though.

Obviously this will enlarge the diameter of you grips.

How much are new grips?

Saw lots of K1200 parts today on Fleabay, 8-900 as I recall.
Then there's beemerboneyard.

I have been using racket tape over the gips. Now have 34,000 miles and had to buy a new set of tape, costing $6.00.

They have many types of grip tape for rackets, I use the type that has padding for more comfort and less vibration.

The heaters still work though the tape.

Mine are doing the same thing, after 20k the grips are starting to crack and split. I ordered a set of grip puppies last week(have not recieved them yet) and hopefully they will work instead of buying new heated grips. I priced them and they are about $90 per side, I guess BMW is proud of those grips, so I decided to also try grip puppies and see how they work. For $7 it is worth a try for a set.

Tape

I like Milk Man and Bazra's grip tape idea and I'll be trying it out shortly.

Grip puppies are one piece....never worry about them coming undone or unwinding. easier install as well I'd bet.

mine are ok

my grip puppies arrived and installed very easily. so far so good. they do expand the diameter of the grips substantially, but i'm sure i'll get used to it. they look very neat.

I've been using the Grip Puppies for about six months on my 07 K1200R Sport. Put them on shortly after getting the bike. They do increase the size of the grip, but I did not notice any problem with the heated grips. After the instal, the grips were about the same diameter as on my old RS and the Throttle rocker would fit. One of our local police dept. planning to use them instead of the $200+ cost of replacing their existing grips. Also, the buzz at high RPM;s is gone. Enjoy!!
