The original from the dealer is pretty cheap. It's like $12.00 I think. You might waste more time loking for a cheap replacment when you can just go down and buy the original.
At least that's my thought.

Joe

If you are not anywhere near a dealer, mail order the stock filters and other maintenance parts in bulk from places like:
www.webparts.com or www.chicagobmwmotorcycles.com

To order from Chicago BMW, you need the part numbers. They can be had at webparts or other BMW on-line parts fiches.

Hey Joe,
I was at my local Advance Auto parts store and had one of these PL's in my hands ready to purchase until I looked at it. It is sprayed with some "fuzzy" grip stuff and had a sticker on it. I could handle removing the sticker but the fuzzy stuff I had a problem with since the filter is in an oil bath. I saw some fuzzy stuff on the rubber O-ring and that tells me the stuff comes off. The fuzzy stuff is for gripping when you install it, not on our bikes though. I just have visions of the filter being full of the fuzzy stuff. I chose the L10241 instead, painted w/no sticker. What is your feelings on this?
