wrong spark plugs?

AS Cycle lists NGK DCPR7E as replacement sparkplugs for a 2002 K1200RS. I bought these exact ones from O'reily autoparts. Once I put them in, I noticed the bike does not run as smooth. Kinda knocks as well. The part number is different from the originals. Any tell me if these are right or what you put in?

Thanks

I have been running that exact same plug(NGK DCPR7E) in my '04KRS for 50,000mi. It has never stumbled once!

Did you check the gap? Should be: .030". Wires OK?

Plugs

Hey Rick,
I put in some of these same plugs a few years ago and they lit my bikes ass up! I now run the DCPR9E for cooler running and to take some timing out and they perform great. Here are a few things to look for besides the gap. The wires like to rub on the valve cover casting so check each individual wire for little grey powdery spots on them, especially where they make contact with the metal. If you see this, put a few wraps around these spots with a good electrical tape (3M) or get some of this http://www.glasgowmfg.com/pages/magicwrap.html Great stuff, and always carry some with you on trips. Also make sure you install the caps with the pliers until they seat on the plug completely and the other end on the wires as well.........without the pliers of course. JUST IN CASE, visually check the porcelain of each plug to make sure they did not get cracked on your previous install. Good luck and keep us posted.

Check you haven't switched two of the plug leads onto the wrong plugs.
