Red face Rear end knock when braking??

Hello all, I am Chris from the UK, Ive had lots of beemers but my latest K1200rs (2001) has this problem, when you apply the brake (front or rear ) there is a knock from the rear end !!?, it only does it once just as you touch the brake lever/pedal.
I cant remember my other K1200 doing this. The torque arm is tight and the shock bushes seem tight, so any ideas?? (mileage is 24000) Do they all do this??.
Regards and safe riding,Chris.

Doesn't sound right to me. I've got 83k on my 03 GT. It has never made a knocking sound when applying rear brakes. Ever.

Sierra Cement: Good for skis, bad for knees.

I'd have gone for a worn bolt or soft bush in the torque arm first, then I'd be thinking about the swingarm bearings. Might even be a rear shock. First make sure obvious things like your wheel, caliper and rotor bolts are tight!

You can't guess on bushes and swingarm bearings. The only way to really tell is to remove the wheel, torque arm and rear shock lower bolt. Then you can feel if there are any problems in the bearings. You can drop the matching bolt into each bush and see if it's sloppy or not. Then push in a length of bar similar size to the bolt and wiggle the bush center about. If the bush rubber has failed (unlikely) you'll feel the movement.

I can't remember, but somebody tell me if you can get something like this from the ABS?
