Question Does anyone own a 2003-05 K1200LT?

Hello everyone,

I unsuccessfully searched in different places to find the total width of the K1200 LT, from the extreme point of the mirrors but I can find this information in anywhere.

I'm planning to buy a '03 to '05 model but because I have very limited space I would like to know whether it fits well in the intended storage spage during cold months.

If someone has one could you please tell me what is meausures from one end to the other of the two mirrors? I think the mirrors are the larger points ( in width ) of the LT.

Thank you,

pier

I own a 03 K1200LT, keep in mind, the mirrors snap on and off very easily.
If you put plastic cable ties from the mirrors to the attachment points of the bike, they will hang in place with no damage.

I agree with Dave on the mirror removal, though I prefer steel cables (they cost about $12 at a BMW dealer and won't slice through like plastic can). They are easy to pop off and on so if the space is a bit narrow I wouldn't let that stop me.

However, the "tip-over" wings are just a bit narrower than at the mirrors but, they have zero give and cannot be easily removed.

Keep in mind that you can "back-in" the LT using the "Reverse" gear if that helps with the space.
