Back on an 04 model

Well, I've moved back on to a 04 K1200RS as of yesterday.
I found a Saudi Arabia (!) delivered (US spec) K1200RS with only 6000kms on it here in Townsville, so purchased it for a price that has kept the wife happy and it'll will be my daily commute machine for the 130km run to work and back. The only difference between it and a GT is no heated seat (I'm in the tropics so I'll cope), no electric windshield, and no fairing extensions.
The Harley dealership were trying to woo me, but I just couldn't do it. The whole HOG scene is embarrassing!
So now I've owned the following BMs:
? 1989 K100RS (John Player Special)
04 K1200GT
06 K1200GT (2nd Gen)
04 K1200RS
Looking forward to being an active member of the list again.
Best wishes from north Queensland, Australia everyone.

G'day fellas.
I sold it as I'm in the military and whilst I deployed to the Middle East, I couldn't see the worth in having it in storage for 8 months. Returned home, and then went through 'withdrawal symptoms' for a road bike. I've always thought the 04 was the better looking machine, and by buying the 04, I got past the Wife Tolerance test!
Turns out the bike was first registered late 06, so it really has only 3 years road use, and 4000 miles on it. Rides as new, so I'm happy!
Now, just to find a 'Fat Foot' for the side stand.
Best wishes all.

Kenneth what were the pros and cons of either bike. Relieved you did not go for a HD. Would have been hard striking up a conversation in the Rollinstone Pub had we met. By the way, the missus and her companion were in a country town up there last week. Population of four, when they left, two. Just a pub. Understand it was a great place, on the Barcoo. They are driving their camper vans to the camel races. I am home for the mo. Got a Police Chief from the US coming across to stay. She was a cute blonde when she stayed with us last, but that was twenty years ago.
